On Friday, the number of new infections stood at 1229. Most of the increase in NRW with 498 new cases.

This is a significant increase. On Thursday, the number of active cases stood at around 9,000. The R-value is increased according to RKI significantly, from 0.99 to 1.16. It indicates how many other people an Infected person on average infects.
