Six-time world champion Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton is a legend in the sport. But for someone who remains at the top of his incredibly competitive profession, he’s also surprisingly open about the challenges he has to surmount to stay there. Recently he posted a shirtless mirror-selfie video to Instagram, and while the image showed him looking lean and toned, the caption offered a glimpse into the mindset behind his progress.

“I’ve been trying so hard to build more strength and strike a balance of keeping endurance whilst not burning muscle,” Hamilton wrote, a sentiment that’ll ring familiar to many. And even like us non-legends, Hamilton hasn’t always stuck with his routine. “Consistency has been one factor which like many, I’ve struggled with, bupropion picture ” he wrote. He also noted that being vegan comes with its own challenges, though he’s previously said he believes it makes him more energetic, productive, and successful.

Still, he’s sanguine about the process: “But I love it as much as I complain.” And from his own experience he offered reassurance to anyone who might be struggling to stick with a workout regimen.

“Investing in your health is the best things you can do,” he wrote. “Let’s all get in the best shape we can.”
