Hilary Duff is a busy mum-of-two, but apparently she’s been working hard to spend some time on herself lately. Hilary just shared a new Instagram selfie where she broke down what she’s been doing in the health and fitness department lately.
“Linda Linda Linda, I’ve still been counting my macros with my man @theflexible.dieting.coach and it’s truly helped me stay lean even while eating bread, chocolate, and wine!” she captioned a bikini pic. “I also love my @novobodyofficial fam and grateful I have found what works for me.” (In case you’re not familiar, @theflexible.dieting.coach is celebrity nutrition coach Erik Young, and @novobodyofficial is Novo Body Fitness, an Encino, Calif.-based fitness studio.)
Hilary said she knows it’s “extra hard to keep up and find normalcy in quarantine but I truly hope you make at least 30 mins a day for yourself to stay connected ♥️ .” Her recommendations: “Do whatever feels good for you even if it’s not food or fitness related!”
People low-key freaked out over Hilary’s post. “Damn woman!!! I love seeing you proud of that hard work❤️” said Jamie Lynn Siegler. “??? Wowza,” someone else wrote.
While Hilary didn’t get into specifics about what, exactly, she’s doing these days, she opened up to Women’s Health last year about her routine.
For starters, she said that Young customises a weekly menu for her based on the things she normally likes to eat, like wine and chocolate-covered almonds. “He basically counts your macros for you—and it’s been amazing because it’s basically like a mathematical equation that I just follow, and it’s been really successful for me,” she said.
Before Hilary started working with Young, she said she had “no idea” how much she was eating during the day. But, after working with her coach, she lost 4.5kg.
She also started doing weight training after the birth of her daughter Banks, 1. “I’m lifting and squatting and using a barbell with lots of weight on it, and I’ve never felt so strong but lean,” she said.
