Arguably, the fight that started the influencer boxing movement was between Logan Paul and KSI back in August 2018. Since then, KSI has seen his rival – who he beat in a rematch between the pair – go on to fight one of greatest boxers of all time in Floyd Mayweather.
Having seen that fight and seen Paul’s impressive performance in it, KSI has now said that he believes he could have done even better. Speaking on Paul’s IMPAULSIVE podcast, KSI told his former foe that he’d “f*** up Mayweather”.
Sensing his opportunity to play promoter, Paul jokingly responded: “Hey Floyd, I may have some money for you my friend.”
KSI went on to explain that he doesn’t just believe he could beat Mayweather, he believes he could beat “most people,” and, he says, “that’s the mentality you have to have” if you want to succeed in the sport of boxing.
“People will be like, ‘What? KSI thinks he could beat Mayweather? Shut up,’ said KSI, “And then it’s like, ‘Alright, cool, let’s go then.’ Then it happens and everyone’s like, ‘Oh damn.’
“Even with you and [Mike] Tyson. I think you could beat Tyson,” he said. “And I know a lot of people are gonna be like, ‘Ah, what the f*** JJ?
“But bro, you’ve gotta remember, this isn’t Tyson who’s 18, this is Tyson who’s [55]…
“He’s old, old,” responded Paul.
KSI finished his point by saying that despite their successes in the ring, boxers like him and Paul aren’t given enough credit for the work that they put in.
“People don’t understand, we f***ing train like boxers bro,” KSI said. “We go in their like ‘Holy shit, the world’s watching and everyone’s saying you can’t do this you can’t do that’.
“Do you think we’re going to go in there and just wing it?”
